the view from above


The other day I took the 9th Street light rail elevator up to Jersey City Heights to check out the view. What a beautiful place to sit back and enjoy the landscape. A very refreshing vantage point. The mush pile below is the partly torn down warehouse at 900 Monroe. In the right of the frame, slightly obscured by trees, is Fields Crossing:

The Empire State Building, peeking out through the vegetation. I recently found out it's $35 per person to go to the top of the building! ROBBERY! Someone's got to pay that electric bill I guess:


On closer inspection, you can see the new Maxwell Place buildings going up in the far distance, along the water:
