flood update

The sound of wet vacs permeated the neighborhood today. Shoprite Liquors, the adjacent liquor store, and other small businesses were busy today sweeping water out of their stores. All seemed to be getting back in order.

Most of the water has receded around northwest Hoboken. It appears the only street with water left on it is 9th Street between Madison and Monroe, which is currently blocked off. The cars that were parked on the street were still there from yesterday, and there is definite water damage. The insides of the windows are all fogged. What a headache.

There is a baricade up on Madison and 8th Street, but motorists are ignoring them and driving right on through...
